In 1945 the Yugoslav Communists have committed a series of war crimes against the fascist troops of the State of Croatia. Today the commemoration is an important meeting place for supporters of the former Ustasha regime and other European neo-fascists.
Among Vienna’s nearly 50 cemeteries, the “Zentralfriedhof” (German for central cemetery) is the most famous – and by far the largest. In fact, with its area of 2.4 square kilometers and its 3 million interred members of all major denominations, the cemetery is one of largest graveyards in Europe.
